A poolside dispute between a group of bikini-clad women erupted into a full-scale brawl at an exclusive Bahamas beach club, with around a dozen people seen throwing punches and pulling hair before security staff and other guests stepped in to break it up.
Footage posted online shows the fight taking place near the Floating Flamingo pool and swim-up bar at the Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island. The clip shows arms flying as women traded slaps and punches, with several falling to the ground while the brawl continued around them. Three security guards attempted to separate the group as the chaos escalated, while shocked onlookers watched from the poolside and several men jumped out of the water to try to pull the women apart. Throughout the incident, music from a nearby DJ continued to play, drowning out any exchanges between those involved. Additional staff in pink uniforms were seen arriving as the situation began to calm down. It remains unclear when exactly the incident took place, who was involved, or what sparked the confrontation.
The footage prompted a strong reaction online, with many social media users criticising the behaviour on display. “Wow wow wow deal with them. These people causing havoc on cruises… my Lord if I go on one I want to enjoy it,” one Facebook user wrote. Another commented: “The staff must have their hands full when so many people have all that alcohol and can’t behave in public.” A third was more forceful, writing: “WOW. Unbelievable, absolutely pathetic behavior! You plan a beautiful vacation and act like you have no home training. I hope they’re all banned from Royal for life! Lock them UP that will teach them a lesson. Straight to jail.” Others called for permanent bans, with one writing: “Ban all of them from Royal & Celebrity permanently. I don’t want to watch that on my vacation. Cruising isn’t what it used to be,” while another added: “I hope they all got banned for life. Some people don’t need to travel. People spend thousands of dollars on vacations to relax and enjoy and then here comes those with a chip on their shoulders spoiling it for everyone else.”
This is the second such incident to occur at the all-inclusive resort since it opened in December. Just last week, five American cruise passengers, three women and two men, were arrested following a violent confrontation at Nassau port shortly before 5pm on 8 June. Footage of that incident showed the altercation escalating as bystanders attempted to intervene, with those involved continuing to cause disruption even after being taken into custody. According to a police report obtained by The Travel, one woman threw a chair at a glass window, smashing it, while a man attempted to escape through the broken window before being forced back into the police station. The earlier brawl left three police officers injured, with one hospitalised after suffering a serious shoulder injury.
