Former US congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has signed up to celebrity video platform Cameo, offering fans birthday messages, pep talks and roasts for a starting price of $180, with a business-use option available for at least $5,000.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, the former Republican congresswoman for Georgia’s 14th district, has joined Cameo, the platform that allows public figures to sell personalised video messages to fans. Announcing the move on TikTok on Tuesday, Greene told her followers: “If you have a special message for a friend or loved one, I would love to deliver it for you. Or any other message for anyone.” Her profile on the site now offers birthday shout-outs, advice videos, “pep talk” clips, roasts and question-and-answer sessions, with prices starting well above the platform’s typical entry point.
Greene’s pricing and offering
According to her profile, Greene’s personalised videos start at $180. A “business” video option is also available, priced from $5,000, which allows a company to use a clip featuring the former congresswoman for marketing purposes over a 15-day period, with what the platform describes as “flexible” options for an extended licence.
Sample clips shared on her profile show Greene weaving political commentary, including references to President Donald Trump, into otherwise light-hearted birthday and celebration messages. In one video addressed to a fan named Montana, marking his 30th birthday, Greene said: “Wow big 3-0. That’s awesome!” She went on to reference the fan’s dog: “And I also heard you have a cute little dog named Pino, and I heard that Pino is just the greatest patriot, which I absolutely love, and I also heard that Pino might also make a better president than our current one – and as I think about that, I would say that’s probably true. Definitely true.”
In a separate clip congratulating the winner of a fantasy football league, Greene turned her attention to the runner-up, saying: “That’s extremely impressive. It reminds me of someone else’s poll numbers who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” in an apparent reference to the president.
How Cameo works
Cameo has operated since 2017, offering fans the chance to pay for direct video messages from public figures. Over that period, the platform says it has featured thousands of celebrities, athletes, musicians, actors, reality television personalities and politicians. Prices vary considerably across the platform, ranging from under $20 to several thousand dollars depending on a creator’s profile and demand. Politicians have used the site before, though the practice remains far less common among elected officials and former officeholders than it is among entertainers and sports stars.
Creators on Cameo set their own prices and availability, and are free to accept or decline individual requests, including refusing videos that breach the platform’s community guidelines or terms of service. Videos are generally intended for personal or entertainment use; commercial use requires purchasing a separate business licence, which Cameo offers at a significantly higher rate than personal messages.
Background: Greene’s departure from Congress
Greene left the House of Representatives in January this year, resigning after a period of tension with Trump over her calls for the administration to release all files related to the Department of Justice’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. During her time in Congress, Greene had become one of the most prominent figures on the Republican Party’s conservative wing and was frequently involved in high-profile political disputes.
News of her Cameo launch generated considerable discussion on social media following her TikTok announcement, with reactions ranging from supporters welcoming the chance to receive a personalised message to critics questioning the price attached to her videos.
