A group of diners has walked out of a Miller & Carter steakhouse without paying a bill of nearly £540, prompting police to release CCTV footage in an appeal to identify those responsible.
The incident took place at the Miller & Carter branch in Kettering, Northamptonshire, on 6 April, when a party spent around two hours at the popular steakhouse between 5pm and 7.10pm before leaving without settling their £539.70 bill, The Sun reports. Northamptonshire Police are now investigating and have urged anyone who recognises the individuals captured on CCTV to contact officers on 101, quoting incident number 26000213409.
The Kettering branch, which is well rated on Google and known for its 30-day aged British and Irish steaks, has been targeted by dine and dashers before. On 27 March — just ten days before the most recent incident — two men left after a lunchtime meal between 2pm and 3.10pm without paying. Police released images of the pair in the hope of tracking them down, with anyone holding information asked to quote incident number 26000177225 when calling 101. One man is described as having brown hair and a thick beard and was wearing a hi-vis vest, while the other was seen in a red hoodie.
The chain has faced similar problems at other locations. In 2019, a family of four left a Miller & Carter restaurant on Newcastle Road in Sunderland without paying a £125 bill following a meal on 27 May, with police sharing CCTV images in an appeal for information at the time.
