Restore Britain MP Rupert Lowe has outlined a comprehensive platform targeting Islamic religious practices in the UK, pledging his party would ban halal and kosher slaughter methods alongside cousin marriage, burqas, niqabs, sharia courts, mass public Islamic prayer and public calls to prayer if elected to government.
The 68-year-old politician—who has received numerous death threats following his proposals—declared Britain’s rapidly changing demographics necessitate what he characterised as a “far more muscular approach to Islam” to preserve the nation’s Christian identity.
“This is a Christian country. Under a Restore Britain Government, it would stay that way,” Lowe stated, adding that halal slaughter would be banned “along with cousin marriage and the wearing of the burqa/niqab.”
The Restore Britain leader explicitly confirmed his policies would apply to both Islamic halal and Jewish kosher slaughter practices after receiving questions about differential treatment: “Whenever I talk about outlawing halal slaughter, it’s the usual comments about why not kosher as well? The answer is very straightforward. A Restore Britain Government would ban both.”
Lowe’s platform additionally proposes deporting foreign nationals “attempting to promote Islamism” alongside those unable to speak English, refusing work, claiming benefits, living in social housing or “hating Britain,” whilst ending what he termed “unfettered immigration from Islamic countries.”
The MP characterised current demographic trends as “colonisation,” citing Tower Hamlets, Bradford, Rochdale, Leicester, Blackburn and Birmingham as examples where residents “could be living in an Islamic country” rather than experiencing multiculturalism.
“What has happened in those towns will happen elsewhere. It is simply a matter of time. We can all already see it developing. It is demographic reality,” Lowe warned, arguing the Muslim population’s growth would eventually reach a point “where they will no longer be asking” for accommodation of religious practices.
The politician criticised Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer for “pandering to the Muslim vote” whilst accusing Nigel Farage of weakness for stating that “alienating Islam” would result in electoral defeat, characterising Conservative immigration policies as having “accelerated the process.”
Lowe framed his agenda as providing “the British people a democratic route out” of demographic change he argued threatens transforming the nation’s religious and cultural character, stating his objective involves leaving “the country in a better state than the one my generation was gifted.”
“I want my grandchildren, and your grandchildren, to grow up in a cohesive, prosperous and confident Christian country which treats women with respect. That will require decent British men and women to stand up for our way of life in a far more assertive manner,” he concluded.
