A 45-year-old man has been taken to hospital in an unknown condition after being stabbed on a busy West London high street, with police arresting a 55-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
The attack took place on High Street in Ruislip at around midday on Monday 30 June, the Metropolitan Police confirmed. Paramedics, including a specialist team from London’s Air Ambulance, treated the victim for a single stab wound before transporting him to a major trauma centre by road. Officers are awaiting an update on the extent of his injuries.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.04pm today (30 June) to reports of a stabbing on High Street, Ruislip. We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a fast response car. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a patient for a stab wound and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority by road.”
The 55-year-old man arrested at the scene remains in custody. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward to assist with their enquiries.
The daytime attack comes just hours after a separate, fatal stabbing in Hounslow, in which a 22-year-old man lost his life at the junction of Bath Road and South West Road in Cranford. He was stabbed shortly before 1.50am and died at the scene, according to MyLondon. The victim has not yet been publicly named.
