Klaudia Zakrzewska, the 32-year-old social media influencer known online as Klaudiaglam, has died from injuries sustained when a car struck her outside a Soho nightclub last Sunday, police have confirmed.
Zakrzewska, from Essex, was hit by a vehicle on Argyll Street in Westminster in the early hours of Sunday 19 April and was taken to hospital in a critical condition. She was pronounced dead on Saturday 25 April, six days after the collision. She had amassed a significant following across TikTok and Instagram, where she was widely known for her BBL content.
Gabrielle Precious Carrington, 29, has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident — a charge that was filed before Zakrzewska’s death. It is expected that the charge will now be reviewed in light of her passing.
What happened on Argyll Street
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday 19 April on Argyll Street, the West End thoroughfare that runs alongside the London Palladium and is lined with late-night venues. Officers were called shortly after 4.30am to reports of a vehicle in collision with pedestrians outside one of the area’s nightclubs.
Three people were injured. Klaudia Zakrzewska — a 32-year-old Polish-born model and influencer from Essex, known on social media as Klaudiaglam to a following of more than 250,000 on Instagram — was taken to hospital in a critical condition. A man in his 50s, since identified as 58, suffered what police describe as life-changing injuries. A second woman in her 30s was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Ms Zakrzewska, who had earlier on Sunday posted videos from inside the nightclub, was placed into an induced coma. Her mother, in a GoFundMe appeal launched while her daughter was still fighting for her life, described it as “the most devastating time our family has ever faced”, paying tribute to a daughter who had “touched so many people with her pure heart and kindness”. Ms Zakrzewska was pronounced dead in hospital on Thursday.
A charge upgraded to murder
Gabrielle Precious Carrington, 29 — known publicly by her stage and social media name RIELLEUK — was originally charged with attempting to murder Ms Zakrzewska. The Met confirmed on Thursday that, following the victim’s death, the charge has been amended to murder.
Ms Carrington appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday and was remanded into custody. She is next due to appear at the Old Bailey on 19 May.
Carrington first came to public attention as a teenager in 2013, when she reached the live finals of The X Factor as part of the girl group Miss Dynamix, formed at judges’ houses after the trio impressed Gary Barlow and the rest of the panel. In the years since, she has built a separate profile as an influencer, with around 362,000 followers on Instagram.
A police appeal — and a request for restraint
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, expressed the Met’s “deepest sympathies to Klaudia’s family and friends in light of this tragic update”, and extended condolences to all those affected by the incident.
She also addressed the social-media response that has built up around the case in the five days since the collision, much of it driven by the public profiles of those involved. “We recognise that this case has generated significant interest and discussion on social media,” she said, “however, we would urge the public to refrain from further speculation.” Officers have asked that graphic footage circulating online not be shared further, both out of respect for Ms Zakrzewska’s family and out of consideration for the others injured at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
