Two men from Islington have been charged in connection with a ram raid at a luxury fashion store in central London, during which handbags worth up to £30,000 each were stolen.
Ryan Brough, 32, of Courtney Road, and Max Tyson, 25, of St Peter’s Street, are due to appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Both have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary between November last year and January 2026.
The pair were arrested on Friday, the same day thieves used a black SUV to smash through the window of the Yves Saint Laurent store on Old Bond Street at around 3am.
Footage captured by a passer-by shows balaclava-clad robbers clearing shelves inside the shop before making off with a number of items including high-value handbags.
The Metropolitan Police’s Flying Squad, which has been investigating a series of similar raids targeting luxury retail outlets in recent months, took over the inquiry.
A force spokesman confirmed that efforts are continuing to locate a third man believed to have been involved in the incident.
The raid follows a separate robbery just days earlier in which a gang on motorbikes stole thousands of pounds worth of Rolex watches from the Bucherer Rolex Boutique at One Hyde Park in Knightsbridge. Phone footage showed two motorbikes arriving at the store before the theft took place.
Brough and Tyson will appear before magistrates on Monday, with further court proceedings expected to follow.
