Aston Villa’s goalkeeper is reportedly attracting interest from two European giants, while Manchester United are said to have doubts about Eddie Howe as a possible successor to Michael Carrick. None of the reports has been confirmed.
Paris St-Germain and Real Madrid are interested in Aston Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, according to Teamtalk, while Tuttomercatoweb reports that Inter Milan are weighing up a move for Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards. The Independent says Manchester United are not convinced that Eddie Howe would be the right replacement for their manager, Michael Carrick. The reports are part of a busy day of transfer speculation across Europe, and none has been confirmed by the clubs involved.
Villa’s Suzuki attracts interest
Teamtalk reports that the 24-year-old Japan international’s form has drawn interest from PSG and Real Madrid. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are also said to be monitoring him.
Suzuki joined Villa from Parma in August 2026, after playing in all four of Japan’s World Cup matches. He made 59 appearances for Parma over two seasons. Villa’s player profile credits him with 47 saves from 62 shots faced, a 75.8% save rate. He has conceded 15 goals in 13 appearances, 12 of them starts, and has completed 280 of 445 passes. There have been no publicly verified bids or formal negotiations.
Inter eye Palace’s Richards
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Inter are considering a move for Richards, a 26-year-old United States international whose contract at Palace expires next summer. The Italian outlet says Inter could approach in January rather than wait until summer 2027, as his remaining contract length may make a winter deal financially achievable.
The report says Inter manager Cristian Chivu is particularly interested in Richards’ pace, technical ability and marking, and that the club wants to strengthen its defence despite sitting second in Serie A. It names Inter executive Dario Baccin as involved in planning a possible free-agent move next summer. No agreement with Richards or Palace has been confirmed.
United and the Carrick question
The Independent reports that United are not sold on Howe, the former Newcastle United and Bournemouth manager, as a potential replacement for Carrick. Other reports give a different picture. The Guardian said on 23 October that Howe was sporting director Jason Wilcox’s preferred candidate, while head of recruitment Christopher Vivell favoured Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann. A further Guardian report two days later said Wilcox had contacted Howe. Sky Sports said on 5 November that United had not spoken directly to alternative managers. Because the accounts conflict, any contact between United and Howe should be treated as reported, not established.
Sky Sports says United do not intend to appoint another interim manager if Carrick is dismissed and would prefer a permanent appointment, although senior figures still back giving Carrick a chance to improve results. Villa’s negotiations with Unai Emery over a new long-term contract are reportedly complicating United’s options, and the Guardian previously reported that signing him could cost about £20m in compensation.
Sunday’s match between United and Villa on 8 November is viewed as particularly important for Carrick, according to Sky Sports. United’s Champions League win over Roma on Tuesday gave some relief after poor domestic results.
Newcastle look at Lankshear
Talksport reports that Newcastle are looking at Middlesbrough striker Will Lankshear, 21, after an impressive start to the season. He has scored 13 goals in his first 13 Championship appearances, the best start by a Boro player since George Camsell in 1926.
Talksport says he was on England manager Thomas Tuchel’s 55-player preliminary list. Tuchel was reportedly preparing to watch him against Wrexham, but an injury ruled Lankshear out and he missed the final squad. His absence coincided with Middlesbrough’s first league match without a goal this season, which ended an 11-match unbeaten run. Newcastle representatives had reportedly planned to attend. Tottenham sold him to Middlesbrough in July for a reported initial £10m, and Talksport says he signed a five-year contract and that Spurs have no buy-back clause.
De Winter and the Premier League
Caughtoffside reports that Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham, Leeds United and Brentford are among the clubs monitoring AC Milan’s 24-year-old Belgium defender Koni de Winter. He signed from Genoa in August 2025 on a contract running to 30 June 2030, which gives Milan a stronger negotiating position than clubs dealing with players nearing free agency. No formal offer has been verified, and the reported interest does not mean Milan intend to sell.
Bayern, Olise and Kane
Football Transfers reports that Bayern Munich will turn their attention to extending the contract of France winger Michael Olise, 24, now that England striker Harry Kane has signed a new deal. Kane’s agreement runs until 30 June 2029, and Reuters says he has scored 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances for the club since arriving from Tottenham in 2023.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed in September that Olise’s contract has no release clause, so interested clubs would need Bayern’s agreement to negotiate. Chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said on 6 November that the club would discuss Olise’s future at the appropriate time. His current deal runs until 2029.
Füllkrug’s future in Bremen
Sky Sports Germany reports that discussions are yet to take place over making 33-year-old Germany striker Niclas Füllkrug’s loan from West Ham to Werder Bremen permanent. Opta Analyst says he has scored nine goals in eight Bundesliga appearances since returning to Bremen, making him the league’s top scorer as of 6 November, with a goal in seven consecutive league games.
Reuters reports that he has been recalled to the Germany squad for the first time since September 2025. Germany face Serbia on 13 November and the Netherlands on 16 November. Sport1 reports that his loan has no purchase option. Bremen executive Clemens Fritz has said the club would like to keep him but must negotiate directly with West Ham and assess the financial terms.
Barcelona and Real Madrid youngsters
Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are finalising a new contract for Spanish midfielder Marc Bernal, 19, who has attracted interest from Premier League clubs. Barca Universal says the club has reportedly agreed a two-year extension to June 2031, up from the current deal that expires in 2029, though Barcelona have not formally announced it. It also reports an agreement with midfielder Brian Fariñas to extend until 2031 and says talks over a renewal for Gerard Martín, whose deal runs to 2028, are not complete.
Marca reports that Real Madrid plan to make the move to the first team much smoother for 16-year-old attacking midfielder JJ Gabriel than the turbulent spell he endured at Manchester United, as they finalise his move to the Bernabéu. Sky Sports News reported on 4 November that the club had reached a verbal agreement with him and is targeting a January 2027 move. The Press Association says United have not held direct talks with Madrid, that Gabriel remains registered with United despite asking to leave in September, and that United would be entitled to compensation. The Guardian reports United are considering legal action if they believe transfer rules have been breached, and that the move could depend on Gabriel’s EU citizenship status and FIFA’s rules on international transfers of under-18s.
Sky Sports says Barcelona, Bayern and PSG were also interested, and that his representatives favoured Madrid for a clearer route to first-team football. NBC Sports says he scored 23 goals in 23 Under-18 Premier League appearances last season and a hat-trick on his Youth League debut this season. No completed transfer has been announced.
Napoli in crisis
Football Italia first reported that Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis was planning crisis talks with head coach Massimiliano Allegri, his staff and players over the team’s poor start. La Repubblica has since reported that he met Allegri and sporting director Giovanni Manna for about an hour on Friday afternoon at the Castel Volturno training centre.
ANSA reports that the entire squad, including injured players and suspended defender Luca Marianucci, has been told to stay in a hotel before Sunday’s match against Lazio. Football Italia says Napoli have lost seven of their opening 14 matches in all competitions, including successive defeats to Juventus and Porto, and sit eighth in Serie A, 14 points behind the leaders after ten league games. Italian reports say Allegri is expected to stay in charge for the Lazio game, which could prove decisive for his future, but Napoli have not announced a dismissal or formal ultimatum.
