A man deliberately reversed his Land Rover at high speed into two cars and demolished a brick building at a Bradford pub before a bystander attempted to punch him as he fled the scene, CCTV footage has revealed.
The incident took place at around 8.34pm on Monday at The Park Pub in Wibsey, Bradford. Footage from the car park shows the black Land Rover pulling out of its parking space and heading towards the exit, before suddenly reversing at speed into a second car that had also been making its way out. As two occupants jumped from the struck vehicle, the Land Rover pulled away from the wreckage before reversing again, this time hitting a second parked car and ploughing straight into a small brick building. The roof collapsed onto the vehicle as the walls crumbled to the ground around it.
As the driver climbed out of his ruined motor, a bystander strode towards him and attempted to punch him in the face. The driver dodged the blow and limped away from the scene before escaping. West Yorkshire Police, who attended the scene, said enquiries suggested the collision was a “deliberate act.”
Yorkshire Ambulance Service was called following reports of a road traffic collision, with an ambulance and a team leader dispatched to the scene. No patients required hospital treatment, though officers found a woman at the scene who had suffered minor injuries.
A spokesperson for The Park Pub said: “We have a zero tolerance to disorderly behaviour and we understand your concerns. This incident has nothing to do with the pub itself.”
