A 26-year-old man stabbed to death on a residential street in west London in the early hours of last Tuesday has been named as Gurbhej Singh, as police confirm six of seven arrested men have been released with no further action.
Emergency services were called to North Road in Southall at around 12.41am on 10 June, near its junction with Dormers Wells Lane. Officers and paramedics arrived to find two men with injuries, one of whom had suffered stab wounds. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Mr Singh was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man, in his 30s, was treated in hospital and later discharged. Mr Singh’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Seven men aged from their early 20s to late 30s were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Six have since been released with no further action, while one has been bailed to return at a later date.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “Homicide detectives continue to investigate Mr Singh’s tragic death and my thoughts remain with his family and loved ones. We believe he was assaulted outside a shop at the junction of North Road and Dormers Well Lane at around 00:30hrs. I would urge anyone with CCTV covering the area — or who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to police — to please come forward and speak to police.”
