A Brazilian spiritualist with more than 23 million social media followers has claimed that an alien invasion will strike the World Cup match between Brazil and Scotland on 24 June, warning that thousands of fans and players will be abducted by extraterrestrial craft at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Vó Bahiana, who describes herself as a clairvoyant, said she had two separate dreams this month about the match, both featuring multiple UFOs descending on the stadium. In an emotional Instagram post, she said: “I have to tell you that I dreamed again about aliens invading the soccer field in Miami. And I clearly saw the players being carried off by the first ship that arrived. When the ship rose, the mothership arrived, a much larger ship, and took in thousands of people from the soccer field. I saw so much screaming, so much crying, so many tears, suffering.” She added: “I am very terrified because it is the second time I am dreaming about this. They are saying that on the 24th, something very bad is about to happen at this game, at this soccer field in Miami.”
According to Bahiana’s account, the alleged extraterrestrials would use enormous mechanical arm-like devices to abduct players and spectators, with a second craft allegedly carrying so-called “Reptilians” — a category of supposed alien beings popular in UFO conspiracy theory circles. No credible evidence exists for the existence of Reptilians or of any extraterrestrial visitors to Earth, and the FBI and Department of Homeland Security have said there are currently no credible security threats linked to the World Cup.
Bahiana has a large and devoted following in Brazil, where supporters credit her with predicting the catastrophic floods that affected more than two million people in the country’s Rio Grande do Sul state, as well as the deaths of musicians Chrystian and João Carneiro. Her record is not without blemish, however — she was notably wrong in a prediction of a tsunami striking Brazil in 2024.
Her latest claims have drawn comparisons to prophecies attributed to Baba Vanga, the late Bulgarian mystic who died in 1996 and is frequently credited — largely without verification — with predicting major world events. One prophecy often linked to Vanga describes “a new light in the sky” appearing during a major sporting event watched by millions, though many predictions attributed to her were published posthumously and cannot be independently verified.
The Brazil versus Scotland group-stage fixture on 24 June is expected to be one of the most-watched matches of the tournament. Brazil’s previous World Cup match against Morocco was reportedly seen by around 250 million viewers, and with the overall tournament expected to attract more than five billion viewers worldwide, it would be among the most-watched sporting events in history.
There is no evidence to support Bahiana’s prediction, and no government has ever provided definitive proof that alien life or UFOs exist.
