Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., has revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has already undergone a procedure as part of her treatment plan — sharing the news in a heartfelt Instagram post that drew an outpouring of support from family and friends including Ivanka Trump.
The 48-year-old mother of five wrote on Wednesday: “I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.” She thanked her doctors for the procedure she underwent earlier this week and said she was “staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support” of her family and children. She asked for privacy as she focuses on her recovery.
Ivanka Trump was among those who responded to the post, writing: “Praying for your continued strength and speedy recovery. Love you mama.” Comments of support flooded in from friends and family across social media.
Vanessa shares five teenage children — Kai, Chloe, Donald III, Tristan and Spencer — with her former husband Donald Trump Jr., to whom she was married from 2005 until 2018.
The announcement comes at a turbulent period personally for Vanessa, who has been in a relationship with golf legend Tiger Woods, 50, since late 2024. Woods was arrested on DUI charges on 27 March after crashing his car on Jupiter Island, Florida, with reports that prescription pills were found on him at the scene. He has pleaded not guilty. Woods is also reported to have called Vanessa’s ex-father-in-law, President Donald Trump, in the immediate aftermath of the crash. Despite the circumstances, Vanessa publicly backed Woods a week after his arrest, posting a photograph of the pair to her 130,000 Instagram followers with the message: “Love you.”
