Detectives investigating the broad daylight murder of a 20-year-old man in north-west London have released CCTV footage showing at least 20 bystanders fleeing the scene — as two men have been arrested in connection with the killing.
Malakai Ferguson-Ramson was fatally stabbed in Kilburn on 26 May, dying from his injuries in what the Metropolitan Police are treating as murder. The footage, released by the Met, captures the moment witnesses scattered across the residential area in the immediate aftermath of the attack, with bystanders fleeing in apparent terror in scenes filmed in broad daylight.

Officers believe those shown in the video are likely to have witnessed the incident directly and may hold crucial information that could help bring those responsible to justice. A 21-year-old has since been arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 42-year-old man was also detained on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and has since been released on bail.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller made a direct appeal to those shown in the footage, acknowledging the barriers that can prevent witnesses from coming forward. “I would like to reiterate that those pictured are believed to be witnesses,” he said. “While I understand the challenges that come with talking to police, there are a range of ways to contact us — including completely anonymously. I urge people to put these complexities to one side and instead empathise with the grief Malakai’s loved ones are navigating at this moment in time. The information held by eyewitnesses is vital and could ultimately take us a step closer to securing justice.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident, including those seen in the footage, is urged to call 101 quoting reference 8418/26MAY. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 using the same reference.
