Police were called to the Stanwell Hotel in Stanwell, west London, at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening following reports of a stabbing. A man in his 30s, who works at the hotel, was taken to hospital with injuries initially described as life-threatening; his condition has since improved and is now considered stable, with his injuries no longer believed to be life-threatening.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Abdifatah Yusuf Adani has been charged with one count of attempted murder in connection with the incident. In a statement, the force said: “Abdifatah Yusuf Adani, 22, has this evening been charged with one count of attempted murder following a report of a stabbing at the Stanwell Hotel in Stanwell at 6.30pm yesterday evening. Adani, a Somalian national, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Staines Magistrates Court tomorrow morning at 10am. The victim, a man in his 30s who is a staff worker at the hotel, is now in a stable condition and his injuries are no longer thought to be life threatening. There remains a heightened police presence in the area.”
Adani has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Staines Magistrates’ Court at 10am on Monday, 17 August.
