Emily Atack marked her upcoming wedding to fiancé Alistair Garner with a sun-soaked hen do this week, sharing a series of bikini snaps on Instagram as she gears up for a three-day celebration in Andalusia this September — one to which children, including her own son, will not be invited.
The 36-year-old actress shared a video of herself emerging from a swimming pool in a white bikini, alongside images of her and her friends leaning over a balcony and enjoying poolside celebrations. She captioned the post simply: “Hen done.”
Atack and Garner, a 40-year-old scientist, got engaged in July 2025, a year after welcoming their son Barney, now 23 months old. The couple have confirmed they will marry in September, with the celebrations taking place in Andalusia.
Despite being a mother herself, Atack has made clear that no children will be permitted at the wedding. Speaking on The Romesh Ranganathan Show podcast, she said: “We’re being kind to our friends and making sure that people don’t have to worry too much about paying for lots of things, but we have said no kids at the wedding, no children.” She added that the reaction from guests had surprised her: “I’m surprised by how many people are happy about that. I thought I’d get a lot of people kicking off, but they’re like no, ‘f*** those kids’.”
The Inbetweeners star has previously said her wedding will draw inspiration from her role in the Disney+ series Rivals, telling friends she wants “a huge dress and a big f**k off party.” Speaking to Luxury London Magazine about the planning process, she said: “I think I’ve nailed it. We’re getting married in September. I’ve very much enjoyed the planning process. Choosing napkins and stuff. I’m like, ‘My God, my life is here!'”
The choice of Spain reflects a long family connection to the country. A source previously told The Sun on Sunday: “Emily has been going to Spain with her family on holiday ever since she was a child and loves the idea of getting married there. She and Alistair adore the stunning countryside there, and guaranteed sun is a bonus.” Atack has spoken fondly of those childhood holidays, saying: “I loved my family holidays there when I was growing up. We had a property there and my dad sold it a couple of years ago, but it’s our favourite place and we still go every year, and stay in a hotel.”
Atack recently returned to screens as Sarah Stratton in the second series of Rivals, released on Disney+ on 15 May. She has also been filming a new quiz show alongside Danny Dyer, telling The One Show hosts JB Gill and Angelica Bell: “He makes everyone laugh, he’s brilliant. We really do have a laugh, and we did Rivals together but we don’t have many scenes together so it was really nice to get to know each other one on one.” Atack said her family, including baby Barney, were able to join her on set during filming, which came after she faced a secret battle with sepsis following Barney’s birth.
