MasterChef star Hayden Quinn has announced the birth of his first child, a baby girl named Rose, sharing a series of sweet photographs with his followers that have drawn an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fellow television personalities.
Quinn, 39, and his American model wife Jax revealed the news on Instagram on Tuesday, announcing that Rose Leigh Quinn was born on 4 June weighing 3.9 kilograms. “Rosie!! Our new best friend Rose Leigh Quinn was born on June 4th weighing a chunky 3.9kgs. We couldn’t love her more,” the couple wrote alongside the post.
The images showed Quinn cradling his newborn daughter at home, and a mirror selfie taken in a hospital lift as the couple left with Rose in a bassinet, both smiling broadly. Jax, her blonde hair tied back, looked radiant in an all-black outfit while Quinn kept things casual in a black hoodie, shorts and a backwards cap.
The comments section filled quickly with warm messages. Married At First Sight star Cameron Merchant wrote: “Congratulations mate. Enjoy the love bubble.” Morning Show host Larry Emdur added: “Just byoooootiful. Huge congrats.”
Quinn rose to prominence on the third season of MasterChef Australia in 2011, making such an impression that he returned for an all-star season the following year and came back again for the Back To Win season in 2020. Beyond MasterChef, his television career has spanned judging Channel Nine’s Family Food Fight, fronting the ABC series Surfing the Menu: The Next Generation alongside Dan Churchill, and hosting the ten-part SBS cooking series Hayden Quinn’s South Africa. He has also published two cookbooks.
Quinn married Jax in a beachside ceremony in 2023 after several years together, having previously said the pandemic had made it difficult to formalise their engagement plans. Jax relocated from Los Angeles to Sydney in the second year of their relationship to be with the chef and television personality.
