A sex predator who exposed himself to a mother with her children whilst repeatedly stating “I want to rape with a white girl” has been jailed for 10 months after attacking multiple women near West Midlands Police headquarters, according to Birmingham Live
Quinton Brown, 52, of Harlech Close, Bartley Green, stumbled around Colmore Row in central Birmingham with his trousers and underwear around his ankles on Saturday 17 February, prompting terrified onlookers to flee into a nearby restaurant.
The incident involving the mother and her two children occurred near Lloyd House police headquarters shortly before 8pm. Prosecutor Simon Hunka told Birmingham Crown Court the family witnessed Brown exposing his penis before he approached them.
“The defendant noticed them and approached. He said ‘Hi girls, I want to rape with a white girl’. He repeated that a number of times. He then grabbed the face of one of the women, knocking her glasses onto the ground,” Hunka stated on Monday 16 February.
The children began crying hysterically and the family fled into Lloyd House to report the attack. Brown had earlier approached a group of young females, saying “I want a white woman” before grabbing one by the face and pulling down his trousers.
He subsequently “lashed out” at a young woman in a wheelchair, knocking her out of it in an attack which left her feeling “freaked out.” Police arrested Brown after he passed out, with the defendant telling officers his name was the “Milkybar Kid.”
Brown has 16 previous convictions for 24 offences including wounding with intent, gun possession, robbery and assaults. In 2023, he received a suspended sentence for threatening someone with a meat cleaver on the city centre landmark known as ‘The Ramp’.
Defence barrister Eoin Campbell told the court the father-of-two struggled with his mental health following his release from jail in 2025. Brown initially claimed he had taken drugs but then presented an elaborate story that he wanted to be arrested deliberately because he feared for his safety after threats at his Perry Barr HMO accommodation.
Judge Dean Kershaw rejected Brown’s safety fear explanation, concluding his first claim was true – that he had taken drugs and was intoxicated. “The reality is what you did on that day was really quite disgusting and you know it, you said so. You’re ashamed of what you did,” the judge stated.
He added: “These kind of things affect people for a long, long time even though for you it’s short-lived. People have to understand the effect it has on these victims.”
Brown, appearing via video link from prison where he is currently serving a sentence after being recalled for a previous crime, told the court: “I didn’t behave properly. My brain was scattered, I was scared. I’m very, very sorry.”
Judge Kershaw acknowledged it was Brown’s first offence of a sexual nature despite his significant criminal record. “I believe your remorse is genuine. You are genuinely sorry. I know from the way you said that means it’s completely out of character to have done this,” he stated.
Brown pleaded guilty to exposure and two counts of assault at Birmingham Crown Court. The 10-month sentence will be served consecutively to his current prison term following his recall. He will remain in custody serving both sentences before becoming eligible for release.
