Mum shares creative way to give money as gift – and people think it’s

When it comes to giving your kids presents, as they get older it can be difficult to find the perfect gift.

Sometimes there’s nothing they need, or they’re just too picky.

So the obvious solution might be to give them some money and let them choose something for themself.

But giving money as a gift can be a little dull – leaving them with nothing to unwrap on their special day.

Or at least that was the case until recently.

One parent has shared a creative way to make giving money as a present a lot more interesting and all you need are some balloons and a box.

The idea came from Sam Emmott who shared a video of it on the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

The post was captioned: “I tried to think of a fancy way to wrap a money gift.”

In the video, you can see a pink sparkly gift box with a message on the front reading “pop me”.

Once you open the box, there are three small pink balloons inside, each of which contains pound notes.

There’s money inside each of the balloons

The recipient of the cash simply has to pop the balloons to get their gift – making it a bit like a game.

Sam’s post quickly went viral, garnering thousands of likes and comments.

People branded the idea “clever” and “excellent”.

One person replied: “This is awesome, fabulous idea!!!”

Another said: “Love this idea. So much better than just putting it in the card.”

A third added: “Wow that’s genius.”

A different user suggested spray painting the balloons, so you couldn’t see what was inside of them, making it even more of a mysterious gift.

While a fourth person joked: “I’d of put confetti and glitter in next time, just to wind the person up.”

However not everyone was keen on the idea, as some people really didn’t like the sound of balloons popping.

Someone else commented: “I hate the noise balloons make when they pop so I would be scared to pop them and money would end up staying put lol.”
