King Charles is facing pressure from both sides of his family over the treatment of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — with Prince William and Queen Camilla pushing for a harder line while Princess Anne and Prince Edward argue their brother has already been punished enough.
The conflicting demands have created what a source described as significant “family angst,” with multiple arguments now playing out across different branches of the Royal Family.
A royal insider told the Daily Mail that Anne had been “vocal” in her objections to both the King and William, with Edward backing her position to some extent.
Yet the heir to the throne and the Queen Consort have taken the opposite view, advocating for an even firmer stance against Andrew following his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The King stripped his brother of his titles and ordered his eviction from Royal Lodge in October last year. But according to the source, Charles himself remains deeply conflicted.
The insider claimed the King still held the view that Andrew was innocent until proven guilty and had not seen evidence to the contrary. The late Queen reportedly believed in her son’s innocence until her death — a fact said to weigh heavily on Charles.
The source suggested it did not sit well with the King to treat his brother so harshly, but widespread public demand had forced drastic action.
Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly required to vacate Royal Lodge before the end of the month.
Workmen have been spotted at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate in recent weeks, carrying out maintenance and apparently installing Sky broadband ahead of a potential new occupant.
