A GRAND SON knew his nan would miss seeing him on her 90th birthday– so he sent her a huge banner of his face.
Simon Rodgers, 34, stunned Maureen White with the 6.5 feet present since he could not visit her.
Simon, who lives in London, sent the banner to the household house in York where Maureen deals with his moms and dads, Janice, 62, and Steve, 61, with specific guidelines not to unroll it prior to the big day.
The HR consultant said: “I would generally return house for such a huge birthday and I was simply thinking about how I could do anything to make her laugh or raise a smile.
” I thought of getting a giant card, however I believed a roll-up banner of my face would be much better.
” I wished to get her something that was more of a gift she could experience.”
Maureen, a mother-of-eight, unrolled the banner and revealed Simon over a video call.
Simon added: “It was beautiful to see my nana and help commemorate an extremely big day.”

Maureen, of York, stated: “While Simon could not be here face to face, seeing a two-metre tall image of him has indicated he’s been here in spirit.
” It was extremely thoughtful and put a huge smile on my face.
” I don’t really wish to take it down. I might have to leave it up until he gets me a brand-new one for my 100th birthday.”
