Coleen Nolan knows Sarah Harding is right to stay positive in cancer

Sarah Harding says she is “fighting as hard as I possibly can” after what must have been a terrifying diagnosis.

She, like so many others – including my sisters – knows the power of facing this awful disease head-on and battling it with everything you have.

After losing my sister Bernie to breast cancer at just 52 and and now watching our other siblings Anne, 69, and Linda 61, both bravely going through treatment for cancer, I know Sarah is completely right to say that she is doing her “very best to keep positive”.

She is young and while this must be devastating news, she has the support of her “mum, family and close friends”, who she says are helping her through it.

That support will be vital.

Whether it’s as a shoulder to cry on, a rallying cry when things get tough or simply silence and a held hand when needed, those of us who can only watch our loved ones facing this ordeal must be whatever they need.

There’s no doubt that as she undergoes chemotherapy, Sarah will have very difficult weeks and months ahead.

But with her family by her side and the support of her millions of fans, Sarah is in the best possible place to face down this horrible disease and, we all hope, beat it.
