Caroline Flack asked good friends ‘Why are people so indicate to me?’ after

One of Caroline Flack’s good friends has discussed the speaker’s response to the trolling she received.

Chantelle McMullen, who met Flack on a hike in LA in 2016, described her friend’s distress when confronted with “repellent, vindictive remarks” from complete strangers online.

Ms McMullen informed how Flack “loved” dealing with Love Island however was left “very upset” after taking a look at social networks after the show.

Writing in The Telegraph, she stated: “When each series final aired, it felt like an incredible moment for her: she was so proud and would finish on a real high.

” Then she ‘d search Twitter and read the remarks complete strangers were making about her– vile, vindictive remarks, about the method she dressed and almost anything else they could think about to badger.

” She was somebody who felt things deeply, and the abuse left her very upset.”

Ms McMullen added that Flack would ask her, “Why are individuals so suggest to me?”

The close friend of the late star said she and Flack’s other good friends would prompt the 40-year-old to ignore the remarks and “focus on favorable feedback”.

She stated: “Often she ‘d attempt not to focus on the endless alerts on her phone.

” However frequently she couldn’t help looking, and the trolling left her feeling distressed and low. She appeared unable to just block all of it out.”

She continued: “Caroline was good at offering guidance to others, and if it had been among her buddies receiving that abuse she would have informed them to ignore it.

” However somehow she couldn’t use this wisdom to herself, and her mental health as a result suffered.”

Flack died by suicide on 15 February last year. At the time, the star was keeping a low profile after being charged for assaulting her boyfriend in December 2019, for which she was awaiting trial.
